Paula is the impetus for this slime lore. Through the endless stream of my AI-generated slop and slime memes, her ancestral concept, the "green slime secretary" popped into my head.

Creator's Summary
Wearing glasses is an aesthetic choice for almost all slimes. Not for Paula. In an extremely rare case, she is one of the only slimes recorded that requires corrective lenses. There's something in the way the membrane and vesicle structure in her optical region that cannot focus light alone. It's a problem not really analogous to common human eyesight issues, but somehow it is still resolved simply by wearing glasses.
To make matters of self-perception worse, Paula spent four years in the MASIA integration program, which is double the expected duration for most slimes. It wasn't a result of lack of intelligence or failing courses. It was at the recommendation of her advisor who, at the end of each academic year, would suggest Paula take another set of courses, citing her belief that Paula was 'not emotionally ready for society at large.'
Above all, Paula's dream is to be human: flesh, blood and bone. She wants parents and family. She wants to know what its like to have a real birthday. She wants to swim and ski and get caught in the rain without disolving. She wants to know what it's like to feel sore muscle after exercise, the pain of getting a piercing. She wants to see doctors and know what its like to feel sick. She wants to have real hair she can wash, real nails she can paint. She wants to get old and deal with all that comes with it, good and bad.
